Week 29
Weight +20 Pounds
Waist +9.5 Inches
Cravings: Nothing in particular
Dislikes: Still not loving the oil on my belly.

This past week Antonella has been moving in a new way, she just moves her limbs across my belly and moves slowly, pushes parts of her body out and stays there for a seconds and then stops. it's different, I like it, like I like all her movement.

Sleeping has gotten a little bit harder, I wake up with backaches and have to re-adjust my whole body and somehow the whole pillow thing doesn't work for me. Thankfully though I am able to fall asleep soon after I re-adjust. I guess it is good training since I wake up 4-5 times throughout the night between her kicking, my back aching and my bladder being jumped on.

My belly button is now completely out, but it almost feels flat. I really don't know where my belly can go from here, but I know I can grow more, I just can't picture it. Earlier this week I asked my friend Erin to walk somewhere with me and she started walking so fast, I had to tell her to stop, I can't walk fast anymore. She laughed, she is used to me going fast everywhere and not having the ability to do that is new. I can walk at a normal pace, but not speed walk anymore.

We'll see how I keep doing as my belly keeps on growing.

Semana 29
Peso +20 libras
Cintura +9.5 pulgadas

For K's birthday last December I got him a gift certificate to go shooting and he had not had a chance to do it until last week. While he was there taking a test for them to let him shoot he ran into a friend of ours that has his own guns and riffles and he let him shoot his AR-15. Caleb came back home so excited, he had the best time and I was so happy he loved it. How timely that our friend was there. K thinks God is training him for when Antonella starts dating, silly husband.

When we go to the doctor she measures my belly and always says yeah you are right on track. And Caleb takes pictures of the event every time but most pictures we can't share because I find them 'indecent' or 'vulgar' (my husband makes fun of me every time I use those words haha, writing them I see why they sound so dramatic).

Here is one I was ok with.

It is getting trickier and trickier to wear my clothes but I am insisting on not buying any maternity clothes, I made it this far I am sure I can make it all the way to the end.

My friend Mel gave me some of her maternity clothes and last week I wore her denim shorts and those were very comfortable, so I understand why women buy maternity clothes, but the few items I got from here + the few items I got from my sister in law will have to do because I am not buying anything.

The 3 outfits above are all non-maternity clothes, and they are just fine. I can make it all the way, I know I can.

While our family was here for Mother's Day we went to Seaworld and I got to spend some time with Titus at the hotel before we left.

Aren't those kids the most adorable kids? I wish we could see them more often!

Week 28
Weight +19 Pounds
Waist +8.5 Inches
Cravings: Nothing in particular
Dislikes: My oily belly, getting dressed is such a hassle after having put on oil!

I gained over 2 pounds this week, I didn't feel like I was eating more or she was growing more but the scale doesn't lie haha. I did feel more uncomfortable this week, so far pregnancy hadn't been super uncomfortable but there were a couple days this past week were I was incredibly uncomfortable; I couldn't breath very well, my back was hurting, I started to experience heartburn, I was really warm and I couldn't find a position comfortable enough to sleep. Thankfully it wasn't every day and eventually I would just shake it off and pretend I was having a blast, but man oh man I missed my normal body for a few minutes there.

Antonella has been kicking harder and longer. Sometimes either her head or her butt will stick out from my side and she will stay there for a few seconds and then move, I love feeling her, she is so active and fun. Per every book we are reading I am supposed to be counting her movements in the morning and at night, if I get less than 10 in 2 hrs I am supposed to call my midwife just to make sure things are all right. Well every time she reaches the 10 movements in less than 2 minutes, she really does move constantly and most of the time violently.

The baby room is coming together, we are slowly but surely adding pieces here and there. I don't want to go crazy with it, something simple will do, I want everything about her life to be simple, as simple as possible. As soon as we have something to show we will take pictures of her room and share them with you.

Semana 28
Peso +19 libras
Cintura +8.5 pulgadas

A couple weeks ago someone donated a bjorn looking thing and we decided to take it and give it a try.

After a couple minutes of trying to figure out how to put it on someone we finally got it right and it is perfect. Caleb then decided to throw a football in it. It is in perfect condition so I am going to wash it and Antonella will be carried around in it.

I know I already wrote about Mother's Day, and I know these pictures aren't phenomenal but I wanted to put the 3 pictures we took at lunch to remember my first Mother's Day Lunch. The company was perfect, the view was perfect, the food was perfect.

I almost burned the place down by putting 4 churros in a toaster, but thankfully my husband came to the rescue and all that was burned were the churros. I should really be supervised at all times =/

Before we left Colombia my girlfriends and one of my sister's friends came over to have a snack and chat and just spend time together. Some of this girls I've know since we were 5 or 6 years old and some of them already have babies. It is crazy how time goes by, it flies and before you know it you are almost 30 and you are chatting with your childhood friends about delivery, diapers and sleep deprivation due to a crying baby. I love seasons of life and being able to enjoy them as I enjoy others around them embracing them fully.

At the end of the get together I was so tired and my back hurt so bad I fell asleep, it seems like a normal occurrence this days, 20 minute naps in the car, 15 minute naps between meetings, I am a mess haha.

Week 27
Weight +16.5 Pounds
Waist +8 Inches
Cravings: Nothing in particular
Dislikes: Nothing

Obviously Antonella is growing just fine, my basketball belly is proof.

We had a doctor's appointment and the midwife saw the baby was already heading down, apparently she doesn't have enough room in that short torso of mine so she is in position but wiggling quite  bit. I also met with a social worker who asked many many questions and a nutritionist who told me I am not drinking enough water, and I need to up my protein intake too. Caleb has been on it since she told us that, my husband is so cute.

This last week she has been moving more than before, it seems like it is constant, her movement, and sometimes it is so hard she interrupts my sentences and I have to pay attention to her, it is quite interesting. She moves more at night and early in the morning than she does during the day. I really enjoy feeling her, and Caleb loves it too. She is such an active little baby, I like to believe it is because she is happy.

This week we have spent quite a bit of time praying for her and her husband. I know it sounds weird but that baby boy might be a toddler right now, the extra prayers for his parents can't be bad. Why do we all wait to pray for those things? We think we shouldn't, so we are praying. She will spend more years living with that man than she will living with us, so we think it is quite the big deal. Maybe it is also because of our obsession with marriage, but whatever =).

I am not sure how the next few weeks are going to look like, the 3rd trimester seems to be a race against nature; how much can I grow without exploding? how much pressure can my back take? how much can my sciatic nerve hurt? We'll see how we do, I am expecting it to be as good as it can be.

Semana 27
Peso +16.5 Libras
Cintura +8 Pulgadas

My dad's birthday is on May 11th, but we decided to celebrate it while we were in Colombia with a raclette and his favorite thing to do with us, family games.

Raclette grills are not very popular in America but they are quite big in Colombia and I must add, they are awesome. Caleb and I are seriously thinking about investing in one for they make any get together really fun and tasty. I put pictures of my process, it was so good, my mouth is watering right now.

We played a version of pictionary and we played boys against girls. The girls won as you can see by my mom's expressions in the last pictures, the boys never had a chance, my sister and I in the same team is always a recipe for success.

Happy Birthday daddy, I love you so much, I am so happy I got to see you, can't wait to see you again!!!

This is when we got our 3D ultrasound in Colombia. My dad, mom, Milena, Maff and Wilson were there. It was wonderful. We laughed every time someone made a comment in regards to Antonella's looks, everyone just sees something different.

They kept saying she's beautiful and I turned to the technician and asked if every body says the same thing, obviously the response was yes. I had to get up and walk around for a while, and I had all these voices talking to me and telling me to walk more, drink more water, not move like this, do that. It was funny. I loved having everyone there together talking to Antonella, we'll show her the video one day and she'll love knowing how much everyone loves her already.

While I was in Colombia my Dad had to be take a trip to Guatemala which is why I didn't get to see him until Sunday. He was so excited about my belly, he talked to Antonella for a while and rubbed and rubbed my belly. He loves her so much, he writes her the sweetest emails and I cannot wait for her to read them one day and know her grandpa has been praying for her and loving her for many years. Mile and Juli are very excited to, Mile has to be the youngest grandma out there. I am so blessed by her and her wisdom, every time we talk I learn something new, every time we talk I leave excited and encouraged and with the right focus, she is truly a woman after God's heart and I am so blessed God chose her and Juli to be in my family, God really is too good to me.

Love you guys, can't wait to see you again, Antonella will be here by then.

Yesterday morning I woke up at 6am, my husband asked me to stay in bed for a few minutes before getting up and getting in the shower and so I did. We snuggled and he just whispered "Happy Mother's Day" in my ear. It was my happy place and the day could have ended right there and I would have had the best day possible.

After being there for a bit, breathing slowly, together, sharing short sentences, and just enjoying each other I got up and showered. When I came back in the room a card was waiting on top of my pillow. He always gets me the best cards, he writes the best notes, he is the sweetest man. I read the card and gave him a kiss, and then he told me to put my hand under my pillow, and there I found a gift. I loved my gift, he knew I had been wanting it and he waited, and waited, and waited, and then finally got it when the price was right.

We started getting ready for church and he packed me breakfast, peanut butter and jelly sandwich in whole wheat artisan bread and a veggie smoothy. Perfect.

I called my mom and she beat me to the line "Happy Mother's Day"she was so excited she got to say it to her daughter, finally, after praying she'd have a grand-baby for 3 years here she was 3 months shy of meeting her first granddaughter yelling "Happy Mother's Day" to her daughter over the phone. We talked and laughed and she said she loved me, like she always has. Perfect.

Church as always was wonderful, but today it was awkward. From the moment I walked in at 730am to the moment I left at 130pm people said Happy Mother's Day, and this year it was directed at me. I don't yet feel like a mom, I don't even know what it means to be a mom. So far all I've done is grown a belly, that can't qualify me for the title. The mothers I know, the ones I look up to, the ones that raised me, they have done so much more, they are so amazing, I can't see myself doing what they have done, doing what they still do. But smile, thanked and nod I did.

Pool Momma, Angie, Aunt Karen, Poppa, Maddie, Sophie and Titus came into town. Luc was already here staying with us. We went to Coronado Island for lunch and enjoyed the view and wonderful food. It was great to see family on my first Mother's Day, I was grateful to have them here and to laugh with them as I almost burned the restaurant down (I'll tell that story later).

It was great to look at Angie with her babies and see a wonderful mom dedicated to raising children that love their God. It was great to see Pool Momma with two of her kids and to know they are serving the Lord today, with their spouses, all those lectures, lessons, long nights, long days, stressful times, they all paid off, the kids are serving the Lord. It was great to see Aunt Karen and to know children and adults all over the world have found in her a mother when they needed it most. What a blessing to have these women celebrate with me the first year I get to smile, thank and nod at all the "Happy Mother's Day." Perfect.

At the end of the day we went home, Aunt Karen came with us, we rented a movie, watched 10 minutes, turned it off and Caleb went out to rent a different movie. Moms don't let their kids watch bad movies, not even if they are still in their bellies, right?

We finished the movie and got ready for bed, and K and I snuggled, and we breathed together, we laughed together, we talked together, we prayed together... and then he just whispered "Happy Mother's Day" in my ear, and my day was perfect. Just perfect.

Week 26
Weight +15 Pounds
Waist +7.5 Inches
Cravings: Nothing in particular
Dislikes: Nothing
This week being back home was great. Getting back in our routine was great and going back to doing Pilates and drinking smoothies was lovely.
I have been getting back pain, which according to all the books and all the moms is pretty normal, that doesn't minimize, however, how annoying it is. I can't walk as far as I used to because my back will star hurting and I most definitely can't sit for long periods of time without getting up to walk for a couple minutes because my back will kill me.
Caleb has been giving me massages at night with a wonderful oil that smells lovely we were able to find, the massages make my life so happy. I really did win the lottery with my handsome husband.
Antonella has been kicking as usual and I think she had the hiccups for the first time ever this week, it was fun to feel her with the hiccups, it's amazing to think of her having hiccups, it is still very surreal despite the very evident belly I am sporting.
We have noticed she moves a lot when we dance and when we play classical music, so we have been doing that hoping the movement is due to her liking these things and not asking us to stop.
So far sciatica pain and back pain are my only complaints, aside from that this baby girl and her momma are doing just fine.

Semana 26
Peso +15 Libras
Cintura +7.5 Pulgadas
