So going back to Erin and how much we are going to miss her, here are a few pictures of a small party we threw for her in our backyard. It was fun and then the next morning she woke up early, we loaded up her car and she left.

I am so proud I call her my friend, she is amazing, she is obedient to God's call and she is a blessing everywhere she goes. Erin we are praying for you, we believe in what you are doing and those children are blessed you are there. Love you!

Remember we told you Erin is moving to San Felipe? Well for the last days she was in San Diego she needed a place to stay, and we were delighted she chose us and our home. We got her flowers and decorated the spare room for her. We made sure everything was ready for her and tried to make her feel as comfortable as possible. We really will miss her but we are so glad we got to spend so much time with her before she left, and we cannot wait to hear all the amazing praise reports from her time in Mexico.

Our friend Erin is moving to Mexico as a missionary, she will be in San Felipe working at Sonshine Hacienda. You can visit her blog at http://erinmissions.blogspot.com and stay up to date with her adventures in Mexico.

But since she is leaving she wanted to cook for us and other friends and we decided to eat on our roof. She made some amazing food and it was fun to get together, and chat, and have a good time.

We are so proud of Erin, and we cannot wait to hear what the Lord does in her and through her in the lives of the children of Sonshine Hacienda.

After we got back from Mexico, Mexico tried to kill us. We got so incredibly sick we both felt we had never been that sick before. Husband looks peaceful in that picture but in reality I think he was delirious with his 103 fever. For 4 days all our stomachs could handle was vitamin water and saltines and we were drinking pepto like it was liquid candy (which to K it actually is, he loves the thing and I truly believe he would have od'ed on it would I not have been there to keep an eye on how much he was drinking).

Thankfully we were able to stay home and rest for those 4 days and we had people all over praying for us. My K slept in the floor the first night and I joined him around 3am, next time in San Felipe we will not eat salads and we will be absolutely intense with the hand sanitizer.

For our last devotional in San Felipe we went to the beach, the water in San Felipe is so warm and beautiful, we'll have to plan for an afternoon at the beach when we go back. Jennifer shared a great devotional with the rest of us and we prayed for a while. After we went to the church were Pastor Gary and Karen minister and we loved it, it such a beautiful church and it was exciting to hear wonderful stories of what the Lord is doing in their midst. By 930am we were on the road back to San Diego.

San Felipe was an amazing trip, I really cannot wait for our next visit in October.

And here the team:

Being our last night in San Felipe, the Sonshine Hacienda team decided to have a bonfire with us. Some of the people from the Hispanic church came over and we took pictures with a little girl that Caleb kept calling hija (daughter) because he thought she looked just like me. We had a marvelous time singing by the fire, eating hot dogs, and looking at the stars. We really can't wait to be back in San Felipe.

After finishing our projects and before going back to shower and clean up for our bonfire, Karen (Pastor Gary's wife and the sweetest lady ever) took us to a candy store. I must say Mexican candy is crazy! I am not sure I like it but most of the team loved being able to buy some of the crazy things they sell. They had so many piñatas, the sizes and shapes, wow I am telling you piñatas are a big deal in San Felipe, don't you doubt that.

Everyone bought some candy and my K found a TV where the Roland Garros was playing and we lost him to tennis for a few minutes.
