Week 7

Weight  1 Pounds - Caleb thinks we need to blame it on Vegas, I blame it on the baby =)
Waist  0 Inches
Cravings: Potatoes are amazing, that is just it. and red jello, any flavor as long as it's red.
Dislikes: Most sweets, brushing my teeth is always a fun gagging fest, and I've become much more sensitive to smells.

This week we were in Vegas and Palm Springs, hence the late picture. I was exhausted all the time but I am not sure if it was due to the fact that we were on "vacation" or because I am pregnant. I spent Christmas morning and until 2pm at the spa and that was nice, I felt so much better after, but again by 5pm I was ready for bed, I fought through it though.
This week I've been much more nauseous, most strong food smells trigger my gag reflex, and I am constantly putting hand sanitizer in my hands just to smell fruity scents.

The smell of red meat is the worse, my goodness how can people not hate it with me? We walked by an in-n-out and I had to run away from it, the smell had me gagging beyond belief. So in-n-out is not a place we like at all. I've been throwing up a lot more, and as much as throwing up is never fun I love knowing baby Luehmann is there and is growing.

I have made a deal with Caleb and God, we will enjoy the good, the bad and the ugly. I am not sick, I am not uncomfortable just because, I am not just annoying; I am carrying a child, God's child! So we want to love the process and we are making an effort to do so.  We want to see everything as a blessing, even if it doesn't seem to be one.

January 23rd we are taking a tour of the birthing center, and we will be meeting the different midwives they have there. I am so excited to meet them and ask 1000 questions. Most people think I won't be able to go through with a natural birth and I am questioning it myself, but so far that's the plan and I really want to be able to do it.

Aside for the new nausea I've been feeling, and the love for jello there isn't really much new. I feel like my belly is growing but Caleb keeps saying it is just my stomach full of food, in due time there won't a doubt it's baby belly!

Semana 7

Kilos 0 (no he subido de peso todavia)
Cintura 0 (no ha cambiado de tamaño)

Antojos: Las papas siguen siendo deliciosas.

We had our Christmas party a couple weeks ago (yes, I just got around to uploading pictures, it's been a busy month) and we had such a wonderful time. We missed quite a few of our Partners in Ministry but we know it is a busy season.

Kitzya and I wore very Christmas-y outfits, sequins and all. And that's part of the reason why I love her, we share the same style and she always looks flawless and beautiful.

I really love Urban Church and everyone that is a part of our church family. I always feel supported, loved and covered in prayer. I love meeting with people and talking to them and dreaming together. We are exactly were God wants us to be.

While Dad, Mile and Juli were here we went out and took some pictures of them, I am happy my dad and Mile are such a wonderful marriage, I am so encouraged by them and the way they raise Juli; he is one awesome young man.

Well I made a card for them to send to their friends and family, so from the Varela family, Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all of our friends and family. May the blessings of Christmas be yours; may this season be filled with candy, love and most important of all Jesus.

"The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger." Luke 2:11-12

----------

Lucas 2:11-12

Every year Caleb and I take pictures of some friends and family and we make their Christmas cards. We really enjoy the process of taking the pictures and playing around with their personalities to make a card that matches who they are. Last year we made 5, but this year with family in town and all that was going on we only did two and ours.

Here they are.

Brinkman card 2011. They dressed up, so cute! Last year's card was more fun and funky so it was fun to see the contrast.

The Buttons 2011, there was an addition to the family so that was fun. We took pictures of them during thanksgiving. So fun!

And our Christmas card for this year. Remember last year's card? I love making our Christmas cards, it is just the best for me. Last year we set our tripod up on our roof and took pictures. This year we went to Santa fe train station and Lucy offered to take pics of us. She was so wonderful and sweet and we loooooved the pictures.

We were already pregnant, about 4 days pregnant but we had no idea so the baby is not in the card. The return address did say Caleb, Jo and Baby Luehmann though.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and thank you to all of those who sent us their card, we love getting real mail!
