Weight +3lb
Inches +3in

I feel like I am growing really really fast this time around. I already look like I ate a big meal and there is a bump there, I wonder what I'll look like in 10 or 20 weeks, yikes. I also feel heavier, my knees have started hurting and my sciatica is already acting up. I guess carrying 2 toddlers and being pregnant may do more damage than I thought haha. It's not too bad though, I am just taking extra precautions to protect my knees and my back.

I am still super tired. I just want to sleep!!! I don't know if it is because Ant has been having a few bad nights lately, or of it is because of pregnancy, or both. In any case I am exhausted ALL the time, ALL THE TIME. I also threw up this week more than usual, but I know that'll stop soon, it's fine.

I am having a really hard time finding motivation to get ready, I'll shower and get dressed but there isn't much thought into what I am wearing and doing my hair and putting makeup on seem like terrible ideas. I wish I would just do it so I look better throughout the weeks, but it's just not happening right now.

We still haven't gone to the doctor, but started all the process to get me insured again. So I should be able to make an appointment soon enough. Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09519370590131602063noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733486907804416288.post-28731144251515485332015-06-01T11:07:00.000-07:002015-06-08T11:15:34.252-07:00Baby #3 - Week 13
Well here we go again....

Weight 3lb
Inches 2in
Cravings - Burgers
Dislike - Nothing in particular

Taking pictures with two toddlers isn't easy but it is fun!!! We took a bit starting the pictures but here we are at week 13. I am so tired all the time I really think I could fall asleep anywhere, anytime. I am nauseous too but it's really not bad at all, so far I've thrown up 3 or 4 times total.

We still haven't gone to the doctor but I am pretty sure my estimations are right and our due date is December 5th so we are anticipating a baby mid-December with the way things go around here. We have started talking to the girls about the baby. Emi has no idea what we are talking about, Ant points at my belly and tells me there is a baby there, and then points at hers and says the same thing ha.

We are so excited! Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09519370590131602063noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733486907804416288.post-28788846986755916672015-05-06T01:13:00.000-07:002015-05-27T01:18:29.983-07:00We are adding an act to the circus
One more baby!!! We are so excited to add another baby to our life. We love our family and we love being parents so the news are thrilling and fun for us. I can't get over how beautiful my family is, I can't get over how blessed I am. We have crazy days, rough days, but every night we go to bed and think "this is a good life." God is good and he has been faithful to His promises to us. We know the journey has just begun and we are looking forward to what is ahead while enjoying today.

Baby # 3 we can't wait to meet you and see what kind of fun you add to the Luehmann Circus.

We had so much fun celebrating Emi's birthday. We had a circus party because adding her made us the Luehmann Circus so we had to! In the midst of it all it was simple, we had corn dogs and popcorn and peanuts. Also some cotton candy, animal lollipops and sticks that matched the colors haha. That's it. It was in the afternoon before dinner and after lunch so we didn't offer an actual meal. We had boxes of candy and bubbles for the kids, and the most amazing cake made by our friend Maria.

We had so much fun, and Emi loved the corn dogs, she was eating one the whole time, it was adorable because it took her 2.5 hrs to finish eating one haha. A lot of Emi's friends came and though we missed a couple it was fun to see all the babies who are turning toddlers hang out and play together. It was a fun day altogether!
She is 1!

I feel like it flew by, I feel like I just found out I was pregnant, I feel like I just took pictures of my belly and I just had her, and I just held her for the first time, and she just started cooing, crawling, talking, moving, walking. I feel like it went by too fast. Emi and I have been together every day of her life. What an incredible honor it has been to be with her, to know her and try to memorize her, to learn her and enjoy her every move. I feel like our personalities are so different they compliment each other, she made enjoy cuddles and crave them, she has taught me to look for the quiet moments in the midst of chaos. She is peace and calm, and joy and fun. A perfect addition to our beautiful circus. getting ready to go to bed and knowing that was the last night I was going to

They were waiting for us at the hospital; they asked if I wanted to be in the birth center or the hospital. The type of induction I was having allowed for me to choose, it was a non-medical induction or something like that they said. We agreed on the hospital because of the experience with Antonella, and they settled us in a big room with an great view of the street and the sky. As I laid in bed for them to take my vitals I could see the palm trees bending at the force of crazy weather. It never rains in San Diego, especially that violently, but on Emi’s birth day it poured, it was raining so incredibly hard and I knew it was a special day.
After having my vitals taken, and settling in the room my midwife
came in. She explained that we were going to start the induction by breaking my
water, avoiding drug induction if possible. She explained they were going to
have me hooked up to a cordless monitor that would check the baby’s hear rate
and contractions. It was great knowing she was being monitored but also having
the ability to move.
They broke my water a couple minutes after 10am. I was nervous and didn’t
really know what to expect, but in the middle of the anxiety I felt peace, just
God peace, I knew it was going to be all right, the anxiety was from the
unknown.

And then around noon pain. Slowly it came, and really quickly it escalated. By 1pm I was bending over my stomach and telling Caleb I wanted an epidural. The contractions were coming every 2 minutes. The midwife came into the room and checked me. I was at 7cm and progressing quickly. She asked me to wait another hour for the epidural and not to let the experience with Antonella scare me (she was the exact same midwife that delivered Antonella and she remembered me). I agreed to wait 15-20 minutes.

After 20 minutes the contractions had gotten stronger. I was kneeling on the bed with the headrest raised as high as possible and holding onto it feeling like I was going to break it. Around 130pm I told Caleb I wanted the epidural, I didn't want to have more pain.

The anesthesiologist came, he looked like a version of Caleb's younger brother with red hair. Caleb made fun of his young looks and he commented on how he gets it all the time. He reassured us and then proceeded to poke my back, as he was doing it he said "huh oh." Not something you want your anesthesiologist to utter as he puts a loooooong needle between your vertebrae. Caleb looked at him and he asked the nurse for something. She left the room and he explained pushing the needle usually feels like putting a needle through a piece of thick leader, but with me it was not that hard so he wanted to check.

They did a type of ultrasound on my back and all looked good, apparently whatever it is they put the needle in is thinner in me than most other people.

After the epidural kicked in we talked to Michelle and Michelle, it was 2:15pm when I looked at the clock and I was settling back after the epidural. We laughed for a bit and then around 3pm the midwife came to check me. I was at 10cm and fully effaced. They checked everything, asked me how I was feeling and then she said let me know if you feel like pushing.

And I did, I had been feeling like pushing for about 10 minutes but was dismissing it. The midwife got ready and within a few contractions she looked again. It was all so peaceful. Worship music was playing in the background, our friend Michelle was praying in the corner and the nurse and midwife checked me and told Caleb "oh wow her head is already there, want to see?"

-Well no, not really, but I'll regret that so I guess I do.

-Oh wow, wow! she really is right there, ready to come

The midwife asked me to get ready to push with the next contraction. Breathe, breathe, breathe, push. After the first push she was almost completely out. The midwife asked me if I wanted to hold her head and then push and I did. I barely started pushing a second time and Emi came out, my hand touching her head (i bite my nails, you can see my hand in the pictures). The midwife was a little taken aback by how fast she came out (we later found out she came so fast she broke her collar bone). But as soon as she was all out she was given to me to hold.

She was so tiny, so perfect. I held her for a moment and the nurse came to get things out of her mouth, she was making a weird noise, like she was trying to cough but couldn't. She wasn't crying, and the midwife started talking to the nurse and asking for something. Emi was getting really purple. The nurse grabbed her from me and we heard people running down the aisle.

A team of pediatricians and nurses rushed in and they put her on the table. She wasn't breathing, she was so purple. Caleb and I had been praying under our breath, but once we heard the steps we started praying out loud. Michelle was praying too, and Michelle the photographer was backed up against a corner standing on a chair praying and taking pictures (she later told us she wanted to freak out but we seemed so at peace she kept calm herself).

We prayed out loud, in tongues and didn't care. We probably sounded like crazy people, it didn't matter. Caleb was standing over the doctors and I was laying in bed praying and not even watching all the people over my baby's table. It felt like an eternity but after a short time she coughed, and cried. And cried and cried and cried. Never have baby cries sounded so sweet in my ears.

She was cleaned a little. Caleb cut shorter the umbilical cord and she was given back to me. We kept laughing because she looked like she had very slanted eyes and was very brown. She didn't look like she was our daughter at all. We both said she looked like the baby of an Asian/Black couple, not a White/Hispanic one. I said I thought she looked like a Mongolian baby, and after a few minutes a nurse came in and saw her little back and said "oh look, she has a Mongolian spot." We asked if she had heard us talking and she said no. Apparently that's what her bruised looking back and tush is called.

We spent the next few hours just taking her all in. I didn't rip, and I felt great so it allowed for me to enjoy her so much. She was so tiny, so very very very tiny. She nursed without issues and rested on me for a while.
Emi's skinis still not doing great. It really doesn't seem to bother her but it is really dry and I don't like it. Aquaphor does seem to be helping but I am trying essential oils more. We will give it a couple more weeks and see. Her and Antonella have been playing more and more together, Antonella is very defensive of her and often tells me Emi is her sister if I am correcting some behaviour. It's adorable. Emi is such a sweet baby, in the mornings when she wakes up she likes to snuggle with me and usually stares at me and smiles, it's really one of my favorite times, it feels like time stopped for her and I to fall more in love. Emi has been talking a little bit more. She says mama, papa, no, food and titi and more gibberish she repeats that I am still trying to figure out. She's generally happy and smiley but if she's hungry she gets cranky fast, same if she's tired. She does two 2hr naps at 10am and 3pm and is pretty good about her schedule. She takes her shoes off always and loves baths.
We finally were able to talk to the doctor about Emi's skin. It is mild eczema, they suggested we get Aquaphor so that we did, we will see. She is still very very attached to me, which I love and also sometimes don't love ha. It is not easy to have a baby constantly expect you to hold her when you have a toddler and a life, but we are learning together to deal with it all. She eats a lot and nurses a lot too, I am not sure I'll be able to wean in 2 and a half months. We will see.
Isn't she adorable!!!! She has gotten so so so so big. Her skin is still acting strange and there are some rough spots on her cheeks. It is worse in the morning and we still don't know what's causing it. We will probably call the doctor this week to inquire. It doesn't seem to bother her though, it's purely cosmetic. I think she is going through a growth spurt because she has been eating more than usual. But I don't know because she has been sleeping less than usual haha.

We are planning her first birthday, and I cannot believe I will have two toddlers soon. CRAZY!
Emi wears things from 6 months to 12 months. Some stuff is 3-6 months and works, some stuff has to be 12 months. Baby clothes are strange.

She has been sleeping really well, between 10 and 12 hours at night and two naps of 2 hrs each during the day. Her hair is getting thicker and more and more curly. I love it. She is a really good walker, and she loves playing with pots and pans in the kitchen. She also likes ripping paper apart into tiny little pieces and making big, exciting messes. She really prefers to play alone while I am on sight, or she also likes to sit on my lap and play. But she is not a big fan of playing with Ant ye. Ant thinks they are playing together all the time though.

She likes running around and exploring in the backyard, but she must be closely monitored as she will put ANYTHING in her mouth.

She loves all food, ALL of it. Her least favorites are still green beans and peas, but she'll eat them if I mix the, with carrots or sweet potatoes.
Grandma Kate was in town this week. The girls did so much stuff that every night when we got home they'd go to be exhausted and sleep for 12 hrs straight. It was amazing.

As you can see in some of the pics Emi always has food in her mouth, I clean and clean her and she eats and eats, it's crazy. She has 3 teeth on the bottom and 4 on top. And she just keeps getting better and better at the whole walking thing. She is also amazing at going up and down the stairs and at making messes super quick. She loves hiding things in the pantry and being chased by her dad or her lelo up the stairs. My sister is one of her favorite people because she lets her do whatever she wants hahaha. Also she cuddles with her a lot and Emi is a big fan of cuddles.
This week I decided to have the girls try the gift that Courtney Basse made for them and we had so much fun. The girls are learning to play with each other more and more. Antonella is very protective of Emi and Emi gets a little frustrated when Ant wants to hold her and kiss her. If Emi cries Ant runs to tell me. In the mornings Emi usually wakes Ant and she goes quickly to my room to tell "Mama Emi wake, Emi wake, run!" It's so cute.

Emi has also been learning to imitate some of the different sounds and moves Ant makes, it is funny and cute at the same time. I love them together, they will always be the best pair.
Emi is now an official walker. She started taking steps here an there a month ago, but now at 10 months, she's a super pro. Ok not really, she falls a lot but she's been walking more and more and for longer distances.

The girls have been sleeping together and doing amazing. I love that they share a room, I can't imagine all the adventures they'll get to share together. Emi is still an eating machine. She loves loves loves food and will eat every time something is offered to her. She seems to be a little bit less attached to me, but she is still super attached to me. I must be on sight at all times haha. We are growing out of it. She has 2 teeth up top plus 2 poking through, and 2 at the bottom, and a third one popping through at the bottom.

She also starting having these rough spots on her skin, we are changing some food and trying to figure out what it all is.
This week we moved her crib to Ant's room and they are officially
roommates. They have done so well!! Most mornings Ant just comes in and
tells us that Emi is awake. She gets a little worried that her sister is
awake and can't escape the crib, when we walk back to the room with her
she runs to Emi and pats her head, Emi doesn't like it haha.

Emi has a new smile, she scrunches her whole little face and it's adorable. She took 3 steps this week, and kept taking little steps here and there. She will be walking in no time. She is more and more comfortable being away from me, but she is still happier if I am around her. She loves to explore everywhere and listens to commands.
Emi tried on her Christmas Eve outfit. Isn't she adorable? She is not a big fan of shoes, she just sits there and tries to take them off for a while until she gets them. Sometime Ant helps her, for some reason neither one of my daughters likes shoes, what is that?

It takes her about 30 seconds to get up the stairs which I think is crazy. She is more and more comfortable meandering around without seeing me at all times. She still prefers if I don't leave the room but she can leave it and all is well.

This week she officially has been out of my belly longer than in my belly. Isn't that crazy?
Emi gets cuter by the hour. I honestly don't know what we are going to do with her. She moves so much, she doesn't want to stay still, but then she comes over and kisses me and snuggles me for a few minutes. She loves staring at me and playing with my face. I love it.

She had some candy thanks to her older sister haha, she of course loved it, but I am hoping that's the last she'll see of candy for a while. She loves rice, and crackers, and beans, and pretty much everything but green beans. Her hair is getting longer and curling up more and more, and she keeps being an amazing sleeper. I love her. This week we officially took out the 9-12 months clothes and all the 6-9 months clothes were put away. Emi tries to take steps here and there, and she takes one and falls but has never done more than that. She is such a happy baby. She now knows how to crawl up and down the stairs, and if she can see me she is happy crawling for hours at a time, she loves exploring and playing with different things.

Ant and Emi are playing more and more together. Mostly Emi plays and Ant gets annoyed haha. But sometimes Ant plays too and it's cute. I love seeing them together. Emi caught a little bit of a cold while in Palm Springs for Thanksgiving. She is a trooper and is handling it great, but she's stuffed up and is hard to breathe. She absolutely loves the pool, started eating rice, noodles, quinoa and pretty much anything she can get in her hands. She is super fast crawling and gets up without any help from anybody. she says papa, mama and bye bye, and does it when we ask her too. If we make the hand motion for bye she says bye, and we are learning more sign language but just like Ant it is taking a little bit. Emi is moving more and more, she goes up the stairs quick, and is
learning how to go down them, she can only go down one or two right now.
She still loves food, it's crazy how excited she gets about it, and she
still loves snuggles, kisses, and love. I can't even handle her most of
the time, I just want to squish her and kiss her non-stop. She has such
a sweet and loving personality, it's crazy.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09519370590131602063noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733486907804416288.post-66840632995800190482014-11-08T18:16:00.000-08:002015-01-02T08:46:21.719-08:00Baby L #2 - Week 36
My little happy baby. She has her two front teeth coming
and still is happy as a clam. Loves bath time even when Antonella is
ready to attack her with water and hugs and dangerous pats on the head.
Still standing all the time and walking while holding onto objects. She
really does love to snuggle and in the morning when she wakes up Caleb
moves her to our bed, she nurses and then she just stares at me and
plays with my face for 20-30 minutes.

She says mama and
papa clearly. And she DOES NOT like it when I leave the room. The
nursery at church is no fun right now because of separation anxiety.
Thank goodness the nursery volunteers are amazing.

Ant is still learning how to love on her sister.
Emi keeps growing faster and faster. She stands all the time and without effort, but hasn't started taking steps quite yet. She is sleeping beautifully, and continues on her schedule of two naps and a 9-10 hr night. She loves loves loves food, all kinds of food, and whatever she finds goes to her mouth. All eyes on her! Emi is amazing. She really is. She learned to crawl up two stairs this week, only problem is she ends up stuck there because she doesn't know how to get down, she may have fallen a couple times. She loves being outside and exploring everything. We started giving her mums (rice crackers for babies) and she loves them. Her top two front teeth are still peeking but not quite out yet. She laughs about everything, Ant is super funny to her, I am funny to her, dad is funny to her, life is funny to her, everything is just so enjoyable for her.

Big development this week she stood without assistance, she was standing there for about 6 seconds and then fell, but she stood without assistance!!! CRAZY. Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09519370590131602063noreply@blogger.com0
