Baby in bed

 

Sunday mornings Caleb and I wake up very early, Antonella is always asleep as we are getting ready and that's perfect because we get ready with time and have a chance to pray together before church. Well we have started to move her into our bed around 530am when she wakes up to eat and we just leave her there as we aren't going back to bed. She looks so cute and small in the bed, even though she spreads as wide as she can, she barely takes any space. 

I love having her in our bed, and I love that it is a Sunday occurence, the Luehmanns weren't built to co-sleep haha.

Dinner with my CG ladies

As you all know Caleb and I each lead a Community Group (CG), his is for men only, mine is for ladies only. We meet the same night and at the same time but at a different place. We love our CGs and we go on 12 week sessions and then take a two week break and re-launch. So we had our 12 weeks and the ladies and I got together to have dinner and celebrate what we learned the 12 weeks before. It was a great time! We talked about what we had learned, ate together, and thanked Kristi for joining us and helping us with the teaching part of the CG. She is moving to San Francisco for a season so she won't be able to join us and share her wonderful wisdom with us, but she'll be back and we'll insist she join us again until she's so annoyed she does it. 

I am grateful Caleb and I get the opportunity to meet with people every week and learn with them and from them. It is fun to prepare for CG and see everyone being challenged in their faith and growing. Next session we start in May, and we cannot wait!

Mexican Night

I am not a wonderful cook. I have however, managed to master a couple of things. Turkey taco meat is one of them.

We had a Mexican night last week and I cooked my turkey taco meat, it was lovely! I am now officially craving some of it.

Christmas tree is up.

It is still missing some ornaments and stuff but here you have it, our Christmas tree. Guess what we made to eat while we worked on the tree?

 

That's right cheese fondue, it was a magical night of amazing food, family and Christmas. 

11.11.11

I got a text asking if I was making a wish at 11.11.11 and I thought well why not, I wrote it down and decided to keep it for life. I won't see another 11.11.11 so it'll be fun to look at this when I am 90 and I see my wish come true.

Buns are the best

Can anybody think of a more amazing idea than making head buns trendy? I can't, it's awesome knowing that if I want to spend a few more minutes in bed I can because after all I can put my hair in a messy bun and voila I look great. Add to the bun the perfect tea my husband makes me every morning and the ability to wear a chunky sweater in San Diego and I am a happy woman.

Happy Birthday Tranics

For Tranica's birthday we built a fort in our living room, after cutting an awesome cake in class and celebrating her with all the USM students. We watched elf and ate popcorn, and I loved her birthday ha. Now I want a fort every time we watch a movie in the living room.

Photo of the week

That is my hair after a head massage by K. He's good at the massages that is a fact, but I don't so so well on the looks department after them. I love that he's always willing to massage my head and my back and even my feet, he's the best, hands down the best.

Tea for me

This week has been loooooooooooong, I've been in school all week and trying to juggle things I have to do with being at school for the entire day. It has been a great week, I love when I go to school and learn amazing things I didn't know before. I love sitting next to pastors from all over and hearing their stories, their successes, their failures, their ministry. And school being so incredibly awesome helps with the exhaustion, but thankfully my K makes me tea every morning.

I don't know if he realizes how much it means to me that he wakes up with me and makes me a tea as I get ready and how much it helps that he makes me one for the go.

I really like having my husband.

Wall addition

I have added a lovely frame to my wall... I have more flowers there right now, but isn't it cute? I am working on a few other frames right now and I want to put pictures across... I will add a picture as soon as I have it!

Fondue at home

 

For my birthday I got a fondue set...woo hoo!!! So we had some friends over at our place and at cheese until we couldn't stand it anymore. 

Is there something more delicious than melted chesse over veggies or bread? I don't think so. Next Fondue party coming soon!

Happy Birthday to me Part II

 

After church set up K and I went home. He asked to go up into the roof with him for a few minutes so up we went. He asked our friend Camilo to help him set up a table set up on the roof, he had candles and he asked our friends Josh & Jess if they could make Crème brûlée for me.

I got to use the torch and finish the Crème brûlée while we sat on the roof looking at the city. It was relaxing and beautiful and the perfect ending to a beautiful day, after eating the amazing treat we laid on the hammock and just talked and prayed.

We prayed for the year to come together, we gave God every day in the next 365 days and we talked about what next year will look like. It s exciting to dream and plan with your husband, especially while your view is absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you husband, you are so very wonderful, I LOVE YOU!

Happy Birthday to me Part I

My birthday started with the Crème brûlée french toast in bed. Followed by the K's traditional dance and song. This year's song went something like this: 

I love Jesus
I love my wife
He gave me her
so I could start my life

She's so sweet
She's so much fun
I'd like to wrap her up
In a hot dog bun

He danced and it was the best performance I have ever seen in my life. I definitely love the traditional song and dance deal we have going on, it makes your birthday awesome. After singing and dancing K gave me my card in Spanish, then he gave me my gift. We went about our day like normal and at Set Up for church he had everyone wear little hats and they sang Happy Birthday. It was a laid back, quiet birthday and it was PERFECT.  

I am so grateful for friends that love me and that are so very wonderful and sweet to me. I love my husband and I love my life, my birthday was truly amazing and there is a part two!

Chalkboard

K and I got this awesome mini chalkboard frame and I am enjoying it. We have a ladies Community Group every other Thursday here and I make sure to greet them and welcome them with the frame sitting on top of the book shelf. I think none of the ladies noticed haha.

School is really back

 

School is officially, completely, unapologetically back with a whole bunch of books (there are 3 in my kindle on top of these) to read and things to learn.

Black Out

So all of you already know San Diego had a blackout. K and I were at the movies taking a break from work and suddenly the lights went out. We were watching The Debt and we were still at the beginning so we were ok with missing the movie. After waiting for a few minutes inside the theater we heard the entire mall was out of power, then we heard Chula Vista was out of power, then we heard Point Loma and La Jolla, and TJ were all out of power. And then I got that notification from the picture. Scary!

Thankfully the notification had nothing to do with the blackout, so yay. It was a very relaxing and romantic evening with all the candles, and I want to have a mandatory black out at my house once a month, it's just so nice and so relaxing to just talk, play games and enjoy people's company without the distraction of everything around us.

Our house guest

Remember we told you Erin is moving to San Felipe? Well for the last days she was in San Diego she needed a place to stay, and we were delighted she chose us and our home. We got her flowers and decorated the spare room for her. We made sure everything was ready for her and tried to make her feel as comfortable as possible. We really will miss her but we are so glad we got to spend so much time with her before she left, and we cannot wait to hear all the amazing praise reports from her time in Mexico.
