The Ladies from my Community Group, my sister and I celebrated Christmas how you are supposed to, in pajamas. We got together, ate wonderful food, and played games together. I love love love love love love love every single lady, some of them couldn't make it and I missed them so much.
It is amazing how much you can grow surrounded by wonderful women of God that encourage you and love you. I really cannot wait for Community Groups to start up again, I miss seeing the ladies during the week.

Worst photo so far, yikes.

Week 6

Weight  0 Pounds
Waist  0 Inches
Cravings: Still potatoes, my goodness they are good.
Dislikes: Again sweets, nothing sweet sounds good at all. Also brushing my teeth, the toothpaste is disgusting and makes me gag, so brushing my teeth has become quite the fun time.

Week 6 was good. I was so busy through it all I didn't even have time to think about a baby, I was reminded every time I brushed my teeth though. I have been getting some headaches, but I don't know that they are pregnancy related.

Food and water intake have been kept at the same levels but I am not making a big deal if I don't get to drink my recommended 70oz - 90oz a day. This week Caleb and I came up with a boy name and a girl name, we love love love them and as soon as we know the sex of the baby we will share those with everyone. We just don't want to share them until we know which one it is. In the meantime we refer to the baby as baby L, snoop or blueberry (since this week the baby is the size of a blueberry).

I have been having some pretty intense dreams. Nothing baby related but I was reading and I guess pregnant women have intense dreams. In one of them I was murdering bad people and freeing abused women. I think I shouldn't have watched Colombiana (which I actually didn't like at all).

I really don't feel like I am pregnant most of the time, the only way I know I am is because my thoughts are consumed by the idea of a son or daughter, and because I am reminded daily by God of so many promises He's given both me and my husband. We are excited for week 7 and for Baby L to keep growing, this week the baby has arms and legs, isn't that fun?

Also I got my appointment with the doctor, but it is not until January 17th, so we will have to wait for that one. We also signed up to tour the birthing center where we want to have the baby and meet the midwives they have there. I am so excited for that tour, I'll be filling you all in when we go.

Semana 6

Kilos 0 (no he subido de peso todavia)

He estado tomando agua y comiendo juiciosa.

I have been telling my darling wife that I wanted to write a blog at least a few times a week during our pregnancy, and finally I am. I really wanted to write this for the men of the world because I think we might need a little support also. Not that we don't get it, but for those times where we have no idea how or what we can do to help our wives while they are carrying our baby.

My beautiful ColOmbian has been pregnant for 7 weeks now. And it has been amazing fun and there have been a few times where I am finding myself completely LOST! I have noticed that I might be a little overbearing, which seems good, but when you treat your wife like she is roughly an 8 year old, she will tend to get a little frustrated with you. The toughest thing about this is that I am stubborn, because to me I feel like I am looking out for her safety and that seems like the smart thing to do, but I can't get mad at her for walking across the street because I don't think she is looking both ways. For some reason I cannot quit doing it (stubborn). It has been so difficult trying to find a happy medium for my over protectiveness, I've found a medium, but sometimes it isn't all that happy honestly!

We have been blessed so far during this pregnancy. JO has not had any morning sickness, she gets a few headaches every once in a while, and she gets very tired, oh, there was last Friday when we had to go to the emergency room though. And she did pass out in the hallway. If you have ever seen your pregnant wife pass out and fall to the floor, it is frightening. But, I am happy to say all is well and wife and baby are great. I even took a picture of wife while she was passed out on the hospital floor. My advice to most men out there, if your wife has fainted and passed out on the floor, probably not smart to take a picture. But, I did all the things I could to make sure she was alive and okay, and the woman loves pictures of everything. So really it just comes down to knowing your wife, if she is going to hate you for taking the picture, don't take it, but my wife is an anomaly, she loves pictures of just about any occasion, and she was super happy I took the picture of her to document our 7 hours at the emergency room.

I am more than excited for the new craziness that is coming to JO and my life. Everyday I am more amazed at the fact that I am going to be a father!! I waited patiently for my wife, and God blessed me abundantly, JO is more than I could have ever asked God for. We waited to have a child, and God is blessing us with one that is growing everyday in the Wife's belly. I LOVE THIS LIFE.

Caleb's grandma knitted and frame the duck and message. Isn't it wonderful?

Many people don't know but Grandma passed away on December 9th. I didn't get to spend as many years with grandma as I would have liked to as the last few months she wasn't doing so well and having a conversation with her was a little difficult.

The first day I met grandma Caleb and I were not dating yet and as soon as she looked at me she said "Oh you will have brown babies Caleb woo hoo." She was so excited about the thought of brown babies, it was so cute. Once we had been married for a couple months she came down to San Diego with pool momma and saw our small one bedroom apartment and said "I don't know why you don't have kids, there is room for 4 children in here." You must love that.

I love grandma, she was cranky with me when I wore ripped jeans, and she was happy with me when she heard my accent and we played bingo. I am sad my kids won't get to meet her, but I am excited to know I will be able to tell them stories about her and let them know she made the rules hanging somewhere in the wall.

See you in heaven grandma!

I've been getting notifications from different pregnancy apps about the baby and I love it. It's so fun to read about baby stuff when you know one is growing inside of you. This week Baby Luehmann was going through his 6th week and there is so much change going on for that baby. God is incredible, the way babies develop and how amazing they are even when they are the size of a grain of rice, that just blows my mind.

I am excited for week 7 to come!

I took some pictures of Willie, Mile and Juli and made a card for them and this is the result. They had never gotten pictures taken of them after the wedding so I am glad we were able to get some pics. They are a cute family and I am so glad God blessed my dad with Mile and Juli, I love them and they are without a doubt God send.

LOVE YOU GUYS!

Moms are the best (says the soon to become one), and both mine and Caleb are the best-est (yes I am aware it is not a word). Not only because of their generosity but also because of their heart, amazing wisdom, great advice and unconditional love. And apparently all of that becomes more evident and even more amazing once a grand baby is born. For K's mom this is grand baby #4 and for my mom this is the first baby. As you can see from the picture she has made up her mind in regards to the sex of the baby, she is convinced I am having a boy and she sent him/her so many beautiful things. She really wanted to be the first one to give the baby a stuffed animal (she owns toy stores and stuffed animals have been what she does for the last 22 years). And I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Now Baby Luehmann will know grandma was the first to bless him, and the first to be wrong or right about his/her sex.

Thanks ma I LOVE YOU!

Once again we had baby dedications at Urban and I must say it's one of my favorite times. Seeing all the parents telling God they commit their babies to Him it's just awesome.

Congrats PJ, Kavan and Lahnaya and respective parents =).

Week 5
Weight  -1 Pounds
Waist  0 Inches
Cravings: Potatoes, potatoes, potatoes
Dislikes: Can't think of anything really. Sweets are not very appetizing to me, haven't really had any, they just don't sound good.

Week 5 wasn't as breezy as week 4, in fact it included a trip to the ER.The week was going just fine, I kind of haven't had a huge appetite but I have been eating regardless, at least small hearty snacks every 4 hours. I have also been drinking between 64oz - 70oz of water a day.

Everything was fine up until Friday afternoon. Around 4pm I started feeling discomfort in my upper abdomen and I thought that maybe I had to eat since I get nausea when I don't eat often. I was with my sister so we stopped somewhere and ate something.

The pain kept getting worse and worse so we headed home, by the time we got home I couldn't stand up straight. My sister is in med school so I am so blessed I was with her. I started throwing up and my sister kept asking me a thousand questions. She called my mom's cousin in Colombia who is an obstetrician and have him all the answers I had given her. He asked a few more questions and said it sounded like he baby wasn't the one causing it and told us to go to the ER.

By then I had been crunched up in a ball for a couple hours, my husband was at church for set up and I needed to get the pain to stop. Maff called Caleb and he drove home. In 5 minutes he was home and my friend Sarah P was dropping off maalox, tea, tums and pedialite (my sister thought I was getting de-hydrated, which was actually true). Sarah had the same experience with her first pregnancy so she made me feel much much better.

We went to the ER and within 15 minutes I was in a room hooked to and IV getting hydrated. The nurse, Theresa F, was wonderful and made me feel great. She was so gentle and caring and she was working so hard. I want to send her a card and maybe flowers, she really was awesome.

They drew blood to check on me and after I had to go to the bathroom to throw up. I got up and a few steps out of the room I fainted. My husband who is incredibly funny decided to take my pulse, scream for help, cover my bottom and take a picture. He explained later he knew I like things documented, which was so sweet of him, but I explained at fainting we draw the line haha.

We were at the hospital until 230am and went home, they had given me morphine and that calmed the pain. They also checked for all kinds of things and I was completely fine. They did a regular ultrasound on the baby and a trans-vaginal ultrasound and I was able to see the little 1/2 rice grain sized baby. The technician said the baby was smaller than normal but completely fine and healthy. At 5'2'' I guess I am not shocked I have a little baby.

They sent me home and Saturday I felt sick until about 2pm. I was taking maalox and anise water and that was helping. I still feel uncomfortable but we have gotten to the conclusion that it is just gas my body is not used to having. My metabolism has slowed down so much that I have so much more gas in my body, and it is stuck there, just stuck. It hurts let me tell you, but I am so very happy my baby is safe.

Thank you so much for all of the prayers and love and support. Our baby is so loved already, we feel tremendously blessed.

Jonathan & Kristi celebrated their birthday with a vintage party. Here is how we looked. I feel like a bad secretary but whatever, I didn't have much time to plan a outfit.
