Alayna invited me to Kensington Grill during restaurant week to celebrate my birthday. Food was delicious and the conversation as always was wonderful. I really like Kensington, K and I talk about that area as a possible place for a future home. It's calm, and beautiful, and modern, and it has great restaurants. We'll see.

My phone takes weird pictures when I use the flash, I gotta figure it out.

THANKS ALAYNA!!

I am posting late because I knew my photo of the week was going to come from tonight.

Nothing like a group of believers who have never met, know nothing about each other, and probably disagree in many things, coming together to worship the same God. Just amazing!

September 1st, 2008 K asked me to lunch. We hadn't spent much time together at all, especially considering he was still living in Las Vegas and I had been living in San Diego for a month. But in one of his visits he asked me to lunch and right after lunch we drove by Starbucks on 5th and Gst. He told me he liked me, asked me to a cup of coffee and said he wanted to get to know me better, he wanted our outings to be intentional.

A couple Sundays ago we walked by the same Starbucks and remember our awkward, cute conversation.

Oh Starbucks, now you are part of the best story.

K and I served in Urban Kids a couple weeks ago. The kids were very good at listening and sitting down for K's part of the lesson and then for my part of the lesson. We had fun even though we had a little faux pas with the potty break.

I feel like we are training for when we have our own kids, I am excited to have little lessons about God and the Bible with them. I think that nothing is more important in parenting than to take the time to teach children about God, and how to life a life devoted to Him.

After church set up K and I went home. He asked to go up into the roof with him for a few minutes so up we went. He asked our friend Camilo to help him set up a table set up on the roof, he had candles and he asked our friends Josh & Jess if they could make Crème brûlée for me.

I got to use the torch and finish the Crème brûlée while we sat on the roof looking at the city. It was relaxing and beautiful and the perfect ending to a beautiful day, after eating the amazing treat we laid on the hammock and just talked and prayed.

We prayed for the year to come together, we gave God every day in the next 365 days and we talked about what next year will look like. It s exciting to dream and plan with your husband, especially while your view is absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you husband, you are so very wonderful, I LOVE YOU!

My birthday started with the Crème brûlée french toast in bed. Followed by the K's traditional dance and song. This year's song went something like this:

I love Jesus
I love my wife
He gave me her
so I could start my life

She's so sweet
She's so much fun
I'd like to wrap her up
In a hot dog bun

He danced and it was the best performance I have ever seen in my life. I definitely love the traditional song and dance deal we have going on, it makes your birthday awesome. After singing and dancing K gave me my card in Spanish, then he gave me my gift. We went about our day like normal and at Set Up for church he had everyone wear little hats and they sang Happy Birthday. It was a laid back, quiet birthday and it was PERFECT.

I am so grateful for friends that love me and that are so very wonderful and sweet to me. I love my husband and I love my life, my birthday was truly amazing and there is a part two!

K and I got this awesome mini chalkboard frame and I am enjoying it. We have a ladies Community Group every other Thursday here and I make sure to greet them and welcome them with the frame sitting on top of the book shelf. I think none of the ladies noticed haha.

My friend Tranica invited me to lunch to celebrate my birthday and we went to sushi, because sushi is delicious! I am so grateful for women like her in my life that strive to be righteous, honest, loving, and diligent. I work with Tranics (not a typo, we call her that) and knowing all of her projects will be done with absolute excellence and her attitude will always be beautiful is just the best. Thank you for lunch, and for great conversation, and for being such a lovely friend, and for being a great example.

Love you!

Ps. I look awful in that picture up top, but i looked cute that day, below is proof. K and I were walking to work and we took a picture to send to my family and to say hi. Yes, I am really vain and I care about how I look every day, I will probably never leave my house looking like I just woke up and I put way too much thought into what I am wearing, I find it fun =)
