This morning our good friends Brandon & Mel Miller, our Pastors Ben and Katie Brinkman and us went to The Mission for some catch up/dream together time, and some breakfast.

The boys and Katie ordered salty food, Mel and I ordered sweet food, and since I like sweet food for breakfast only two dishes made it on the blog....

It was soooo yummi!

Meet the Wagners and the unborn baby Neely! Saturday right after Space Makeovers and before church I made my way to Neely's baby shower at Brett & Sarah's backyard. K was working and he was sad he couldn't make it.

Their story is so neat. They prayed for neely for so long before they finally conceived her, I remember we asked them once if they were trying and they told us they had been for a long time, both me and K were immediately filled with a desire to pray constantly for them, and we found out a few months later they were actually pregnant, it was so exciting!

Well the baby shower was beautiful, their home is sooo extremely cute, and Neely has been blessed with great, cool parents.

Saturday we had one of the most fun days ever. Our church Urban put togetherSpace Makeovers for two single moms. I had one of the most rewarding jobs that day, go with both ladies to breakfast where we would talk about prayer, a Bible reading plan and a what a close relationship with God looks likes. Right after I had to go with them to their hair appointments where they would get pampered and receive tips and care packages from a wonderful ladie that donated her services. And lastly I had to go to lunch with them where we would talk about budgeting and tips to keeping their place organized, clean and functional.

Our friend Adrienne picked them up in a limo from her limo company (she donated the service), and they were both incredibly shocked and pleasantly surprised, and to make the ride even better Ashley from Invisible Children donated her time and expertise as she followed us around with her video camera (she will edit and work on a video for us!). I had a blast and I have to admit that listening to this ladies made me not only pull out a tissue for tears every few minutes, but also put my life in perspective and remember how truly blessed I have been.

The ladies were so blessed by Debbie, her care packages and her sweet spirit, it was an honor being there to experience a community be a blessing first hand. Debbie doesn't even go to Urban, she goes to another church, but the truth is we are all the church and we can always come together to help someone in need.

When we first met them they had only one twin bed, but through First Sunday they were able to get a second bed. They still needed a place where they could have meals together and organization.

Our team was able to organize and clean the 10x10 space where Heidi and her daughter live in. They really wanted a sweet little place for Heidi's little girl so we went with Pink and white. We got them a wide shelf, mounted it to the wall and got them two small stools so they could have meals together and we got them a storage ottoman, a few bins, and some decorative items. They really loved it. Heidi told us she finally felt she had a home for her daughter.

Judith is in a one bedroom apartment with her 4 kids. They all shared one bed, and had close to nothing. Their main need was beds for everybody and creative ways of organizing their space.

Our team was able to come to Judith's place, bring a futton for the living room so Judith's 13 year old boy can have some privacy and a bed of his own. A bunk bed for the 9 and 7 year old boys, and a queen bed for Judith and her 3 year old girl. They told us on Sunday they all had the best night of sleep after not having to share one bed. We also organized their spaces, got a few other pieces, like the storage ottoman in the picture and a storage bench for toys and shoes respectively. They were blown away and we were happy God used us to bless this family.

At the end of it all both ladies had a red carpet service provided for Adrienne (one of the members of Urban) and her limo company. And we all toasted to sparkling cider. It was one of the most rewarding days of my life and I truly saw the church in action as we all pitched in to make this ladies feel their church family cares and is willing to help.

Ok, so we cheated on our resolution of not buying clothes, we are so sorry.
The problem is our washing machine eats socks so we were running out of them and we had to get some. The good news though is that we got them at costco so we didn't pay much for them and our monthly contribution won't be really affected.

What do you do at 11pm when you are hungry and have just left an amazing community group at your pastor's house and you just want to eat a good meal, and talk a little further about all the great things that are happening right now? You go to Crest Cafe

I always order boobies, it's the best pasta you could ever have (Linguini in a gorgonzola cream sauce, with ham, fresh pears and caramelized pecans.) Tonight's was particularly good.

The Baba Louie burger was amazing! So far the best burger I have had in San Diego, hands down. (Ortega chile, jack cheese and guacamole.)

Oh yeah we drink passion fruit tea with out meals, so good.

Yes ladies and gents, that is a mustache, it's due to mustache march, an initiative put forth by Travis, the owner of Pizzicato the best gourmet pizza in downtown San Diego, and my husband's good friend and current boss. I am not sure why or what's the plan, but hey they seem to be having fun, so mustache march it is.

I love pens of all colors and file folders and journals, and even though my K thinks I am a little crazy for it and I already own one too many pens, I don't need more file folders and there is just so much space we can allocate for journals in our home, he got me a fun 20 gel pen collection and cute file folders for all that I have to have ready for Space Makeovers this weekend.

I am so excited to use everything!

It's been crazy busy this week with the Space Makeovers around the corner, First Sunday being this weekend and my K and I starting to get involved with the Creative Team at Urban. We are really excited but due to the busy-ness we haven't really had time to take pictures. I did come home craving eggs over white rice with melted cheese on top of the whole thing (my Colombian family understands this), so I made myself a plate..... ahhhhh my belly is so very happy right now!

We've spent the last two days in Palm Springs, where Pool Mamma and Pool Pappa live (my mother in law and her wonderful husband). It has been a great time, but when I was invited to a hike I thought the trip was just going to turn sour haha.

I am not a big fan of hiking, there is just something about not being able to just walk into a store and buy water when you are terribly thirsty that makes me incredibly uncomfortable. So when K's sister Angie, Lulu her husband, and our beautiful nieces invited us to one... well I must admit I was a bit worried about how fun it could be.

We went to Indian Canyon, we wanted to see why Palm Springs has that Springs part on its name, and we discovered the beautiful answer to that question.

Troy and Tanice (friends of our brother and sister) came with us, in the picture you can see them all a little bit ahead of us.
Isn't my sister in law beautiful... I am excited to meet my kids, good genes!

I got some kisses from Mads, our oldest niece, for being a good sport.

Lulu, Sophie Jo, and my K
I have to say it was a nice hike, we had a good time, and the view of the city was beautiful.

I am still not feeling great, and I am pretty tired, so when Pool Mamma and Pool Pappa invited us to spend a couple days in Palms Springs with them and relax, we said yes. And here we are at 75 degress with snow in the mountains... B-E-A-U TIFUL!
