So since we had a journal with Antonella, we of course have to have a journal with this new baby. So here we go again. Caleb chose the new dress,  am unsure about white with a humongous belly later on, but we will see.

Week 7

Weight 0
Inches 0
Cravings - Coffee

Dislike - Sweets, things that are extremely sweet make me want to throw up

This week we started our picture taking journey with this baby. A is included in the pictures because we do this as a family, Poppa takes pictures, Ant, Baby and I pose.

I haven't had much nausea really, which is nice. My sense of smell is completely different though, things smell with much more intensity nowadays. The smell of coffee is almost intoxicating, I never really cared for it, but since I got pregnant coffee just smells amazing, I love smelling it because it brings memories of mornings in Colombia and my sister and I occasionally making coffee for mom in the morning. I can't have coffee right now, which is terrible considering the smell melts me haha.

I am very tired all the time. I was reading about it and apparently between growing a new baby and breastfeeding and already 10 month old baby exhaustion will just be my life, it's funny because everywhere I sit I just fall asleep. I can't keep my eyes open if I am not busy doing something, which is all the time with A being the busy body she is.

So far this pregnancy has been pretty mellow, the first seven weeks have been nice and easy, we'll see.

-------

No he tenido muchas nauseas, y eso me alegra.

He estado muy cansada.

Antonella Week 45
Even though we have known for a couple weeks, this week we decided to tell the world Antonella, Caleb and I are adding a member to our family, and he/she will join us in February 2014.

This week Uncle Lulu and Auntie Ang were visiting, so once again Antonella was spoiled and loved on more than usual. She went to the beach 3 times this week, hence the beautiful olive skin tone. Both Angie and I were so good at putting sun screen on her, she didn't burn, I on the other hand went to the beach once and what do you know? I burned! me! I am brown! I was so focused on Antonella I didn't put anything on me.

The beach was fun, she made friends, ate tons of sand, played in the water and tanned. It is crazy for me to think that in Antonella's eyes the beach and the beauty of San Diego are going to be normal, I still feel like I am on a perpetual vacation.

Antonella Week 44
Baby Luehmann is officially 10 months old. I can't believe it. She has a third tooth that poked through at the bottom, middle, right side, and her hair is curling up a bit. Also her skin is pretty olive nowadays with al the sun she has been exposed to, it's quite pretty.

She communicates a lot more and says dada, mama, bye, yes, yay, papa. We are still unsure about the difference between dada and papa but those are the words she says the most. I am trying to teach her ciao, and even though she understands it, she waves at the sound of it, she only says bye. Ciao is a little harder to say if you are 10 months old.

She has also decided she doesn't like shoes, she cries with most of them, so we put sandals on, or her blue open uggs. I must figure out a way to get her to wear more shoes, I think the heaviness of them bothers her because it affects her mobility.

She is still sleeping like a champ, and eating 4 times a day, nursing only 4. My baby keeps growing.

So when my mom and grandma were visiting the week of June 10th I was really tired and kept falling asleep in the car every time I got in. My mom asked me when I was supposed to get my period and I told her I was a couple days old, but it wasn't regular yet from having had Antonella and breastfeeding, and she said, I think you are pregnant.

So Friday June 14th we decided to buy a couple pregnancy tests and that night Caleb and I talked about it, prayed and just laughed at the possibility of us having a baby 18 months after the other baby.

Around 11pm curiosity got the best of me and I told Caleb I wanted to take a test. As soon as I peed on the stick I got two lines, and I thought uh oh, that was fast. I washed my hands and told Caleb, but he said let's wait still. We talked and just sat together hugging, and then after 3 minutes we decided to look, and sure enough we still had 2 lines, we were having a baby.

I busted the pregnancy apps and decided to figure out what my due date would be and how far along I was, even though I had a good idea. And I was on my sixth week, estimated due date came back as February 14th, so I convinced myself it was February 28th from the get go.

We prayed that night for a while, we gave baby Luehmann #2 to the Lord and went to bed. I took another test in the morning, and cleaned it enough to let A hold it and take it into grandma's room. She gave it to my mom and as soon as she saw it she started crying and gave me a big long hug, she was so excited. She then ran to tell great grandma who also was super excited.

Saturday we ran around all day, and Caleb and I called immediate family to let them know. We were so excited to be having another baby. Sunday we celebrated Father's Day and I realized we had not gotten a word for this baby like we did for A, so that night I asked God to give us a word for baby. And Monday I woke to an email from my dad which contained the following Scriptures:

Psalms 127:3-6 "Children are a gift from the Lord ; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates."

Psalms 128:1-4 "How joyful are those who fear the Lord — all who follow his ways! You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be! Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table. That is the Lord’s blessing for those who fear him."

And then as I was reading I stumbled upon Isaiah 54:13 and I knew it was God speaking to me about baby.

"All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children."

We are so excited to meet this baby who will be taught by the Lord, the joy he will bring is already a promise from God and we believe he/she is already an instrument God will use to expand His Kingdom.

Antonella Week 43
This week Colombian grandma and great grandma were in town and spending a lot of quality time with Antonella (which explains all the pink, they just wanted her to wear pink haha). They couldn't put her to bed for naps, so she was walked and rocked to sleep, she tasted ice cream, and she had more play time than she has had since she was born. It was such a good time.

She has been walking pretty well for the last few weeks, which also means we have a new bruise every week. She bonks her head against everything, but my sweet little baby very rarely cries, she just shakes herself and continues on her journey towards discovery.

She also has decided that dancing is fun. Every time she hears music she starts dancing and it's so very cute. I love that she has rhythm and loves music, makes me feel she is Colombian in spite of the whiteness haha.

Antonella week 42

This week Antonella has officially spent more time in the outside world than in my belly, which both saddens me and excites me. Caleb and I celebrated our 4th anniversary and talked so much about how our lives have changed. It's crazy around here all the time, my baby adjusts to my schedule and runs around with me wherever I go, and she's tired but keeps going, and I am tired but keep going, and then all 3 of us crash without taking the laundry out of the dryer, and it doesn't matter. Life just looks different when you have a baby, not better, not worse, just completely, and magically different.

Antonella got weighed this week, she is an astounding 16.5lb. 10% haha.Tiny little monkey. She also got a train and an airplane in the mail from pool momma and they have been our toys of choice for the last couple of days, too much fun!

Lots of walking in May, we walked everywhere. And also Caleb and I started hosting events for the Canvas Youth group in May. A new challenge for us, one we are excited to take on and trust God with.
