While we were in Washington we thought it would be a good idea to swing by Canada and see a little bit of Vancouver. We spent an afternoon there and it was rainy and cold but I thought it was beautiful, I wish we would have been able to stay longer or come back on a day that wasn't raining.

The Button family came with us and we had a great time strolling around Vancouver. Can't wait to go back and explore more.

My nieces got their mom's boots and decided to put them on. They looked so cute trying to walk around in them, they went all the way up their legs and they kept laughing as they were trying to walk around. We miss them already.

Weeks 9 & 10

Weight +1 Pounds
Waist +1 Inches
Cravings: Nothing in particular
Dislikes: Brushing my teeth keeps on being a bit of a challenge.

The last two weeks have been quite interesting with all the throwing up I've been experiencing. Throwing up has really increased this past couple weeks and nausea comes right with it. There aren't any particular smells that trigger the vomiting, but there are random smells that will. Last week we were walking around Seattle and a street smelled weird so my body decided to get rid of breakfast, and just like that I was hovering behind a tree, Caleb was holding my hair and breakfast was gone.

It's funny the looks we'll get from people, I am still not really showing, so I am sure they all just assume I am sick or hungover. Last Saturday I was at U Village with my sister in law and I started throwing up. It was probably the most violent throw up session I've had and my sister made sure to let people know I wasn't contagious, just pregnant; it was pretty funny.

All in all it has been fine. After I throw up I generally feel much much better and I've felt a bit of an increase in energy levels so that's good. Maybe we can attribute that to the rest we got in Washington.

Today we went for our first appointment and it was wonderful. The midwife explained a whole bunch of things and she did some tests and then we got to hear the baby's heartbeat. I really thought I wasn't going to cry because I haven't been particularly sentimental but I did, it was really really exciting to hear my baby's racing heart. Caleb was making video for family and friends and tears welled up in his eyes as well. We asked a few questions, she gave us some instructions, told us the baby looked great as did I and my uterus, and we have to go back tomorrow for some blood work (It has to be before I have any food in the morning).

We are loving this process, and we are excited to keep seeing our baby grow and develop, we'll see what week 11 has in store.

Semanas 9 & 10

Peso  +1 Libra
Cintura  +1 Pulgada

He estado vomitando mucho mucho mas y he tenido muchas mas nauseas.

Meet the Sticklins; Jarrett, Heather, Linus and Millie. We stayed at their place our first night in Seattle and it was so nice to see them and hang out. Their baby boy Linus is 14 months old and we had not met him, so awful. He is the best baby boy, and he eats like an adult that kids. We had such a great time with them, we are grateful for good friends and cannot wait to see them again.

Caleb and I flew to Seattle and had the most relaxing and wonderful 10 days up in the northwest. We visited Caleb's sister and husband in Blaine, and the nieces and nephew were there so that was really fun. We went to Vancouver BC,  we spent time in Seattle and surrounding areas and we just enjoyed being with family.

On our way up we got the exit row and then we were hit with cold wind as we walked out of the airport. We realized we do not own the right clothes for real winter time, and we were amazed people get out of bed up there with the gloom all the time, we just wanted to stay in bed, cuddle and watch movies.

Caleb's dad blessed us with the tickets and we are so grateful he had us come, we spent so much quality time with him and Deb, his wife. We saw our sisters and bonded a bit with our new nephew, I hung out with my sister in law and we put fun outfits together. We saw friends we hadn't seen in a while and met their baby. We just had the most wonderful time.

Thanks boat poppa and boat momma, we love you!!

We've been MIA for several reasons, one we were on vacation, two I am pregnant and always exhausted and three we didn't have internet for a while.

We were in Washington state visiting family and loving every second of it, we will upload pictures little by little but here are some family pictures we took. We missed Josh and Brooke though =(. Aren't the pictures gorgeous? we were all freezing and wanting to cuddle in front of a fire place with hot cocoa, but it was all worth it.

For Christmas we went to Las Vegas with Pool momma, Pool Poppa, Aunt Karen, Josh, Brooke, and my sister. I was so tired I didn't take many pictures but we had such a wonderful time.

We feel so blessed that Pool Momma and Pool Poppa invited us and planned so many fun activities and things. It is just amazing how God has made sure we feel so loved by Him throughout this season where we have been walking by faith. We really can't imagine living any other way, doing things in any different. He is so faithful, and wonderful, and such a good Father, that we can't imagine not serving Him.

Thanks Pool Momma and Pool Poppa, we are excited to see what this next Christmas will look like with mini brown baby here.

Week8

Weight  +1 Pounds
Waist  +1 Inches
Cravings: Red jello, getting over the potatoes
Dislikes: Brushing my teeth is still quite interesting, it is quite funny.

Week 8 was ok. Sleeping at night is getting a bit harder because I am short of breath at night, but during the day I fall asleep everywhere and I am always tired. I've been dreaming a lot as well so even when I fall asleep I wake up often from the dreams. In one of my dreams one of my great aunts (who passed away a few months ago) was visiting me in San Diego, I knew she was dead and I was so grateful she came back to hear the baby's heartbeat. We had a great conversation and I woke up with tears in my eyes, isn't that strange?

I've been much more nauseous this week, I've been throwing up and gagging a lot. I don't mind it that much, I like knowing my baby is growing and taking whatever it is that he/she is taking.

Caleb talks to my belly every night, he just talks and talks and talks and talks and calls the baby by about 5 different names. He is so excited to be a dad, he can barely contain his excitement.

I have started to read the Bible in Spanish, I realized all the scriptures I have memorized, I know in English, and since I want to talk to my kids in Spanish it is important I start memorizing scripture and reading in Spanish. I've started where I started in English, the book of Philippians.

This week the baby is the size of a grape, and has fully developed eyes and most of his/her organs are developed as well, even though they will keep on being perfected for the outside world in the next months. The sexual organs are fully developed too but my book says I will not be able to know the sex until much later. I am excited, I have had many dreams about the baby, so I want to know if my dreams are just crazy hormones and eating habits or something else.

Semana 8

Peso  +1 Libra
Cintura  +1 Pulgada

2011 was a wonderful year for us, on New Years Eve Caleb, my sister and I prayed together and sat down to talk about all that God did in 2011 and all that we are believing God for 2012 and I was amazed at everything the Lord did this year, He truly is our banner, He truly is our healer, He truly is our provider, He truly is our Father and he makes that known to us every day.

We are believing for great things in 2012, we want to see family members serving Him, we want to see His kingdom expanding, we are believing for His glory to shine. All three of us made a specific list of things we are believing for and kind of a resolutions list.

I was so blessed to have my sister here with me. Next year she will be a married woman and no longer mi little sister, she will instead be Felipe's wife, man I can't believe it.

At night we went over to Tranica's and brought ham and veggies and everyone borught something. We celebrated with Colombian traditions, ran around the block, I threw up, we ate grapes and then said HAPPY NEW YEAR.
I am excited for 2012, if not only for the baby to start growing and join us out here, for all the things I believe God will be doing.
