Date Night on the roof

Have you guys ever had a Roy Rogers? they are actually pretty phenomenal here is the recipe

Roy Rogers

• 6oz of coke
• 1/4 oz of grenadine
• Cherry

Pour the ingredients into a glass with ice. Stir and garnish with the cherry

Simple right? Well K decided to make them for date night this week on the roof of our house. We brought towels and went up to get a tan and chat and have a mocktail. We spend a total of $5 on our date night, it was wonderful and we both got a little bit darker, perfect!

Dinner with friends

Our married & engaged community group came to an end after 8 awesome weeks. We thought it would be fun to have dinner with everyone to say farewell and even thought some couples weren't able to make it we had a great time. Everybody brought something and we had music and great conversation.

We had dinner in our backyard, and with the pictures and everything it was made very evident we need backyard furniture, it worked out using the folding tables and mismatch chairs though, and it made it that much more fun looking at the tables with the array of different shaped and colored chairs. 

In two weeks we will start a new Community Group; a Bible study on Genesis 1-11. We wanted to explore the creation of humankind, the origin of things so we are taking on the challenge. Kono's Cafe

Our pastors kept talking about Kono's cafe in Pacific Beach, K and I had been by it and it never really caught our attention but since they insisted it was great we decided to take our family. The pastors were right, it's a great little place with great food and the chance to sit overlooking the pacific ocean; you can't ask for a better view for breakfast.

The pool

Our family stayed at the Sheraton by the bay so for their last night in town we came over to hang ot by the pool and chat. We talked forever, shared stories of when we were all younger and laughed as the parents in the situation learned somethings they had never known. We loved laying by the pool and hanging out in the room, which had an amazing view.

Linus and Heather

Meet Linus, one of the cutest baby boys in history! Her beautiful momma Heather is in the picture above. Jarret her husband, and the man whose genes are clearly dominant since Linus looks just like him is not in the pictures. Jarret and K grew up together and have been friends for almost 3 decades now. We love them so much and we miss them, skype is always our favorite time. Linus fell asleep after skype-ing with us and Heather sent us that cute picture.

I LOVE MY CHURCH

I love my church, I really enjoy working there and going every Sunday for the celebration services. I took this picture from the media table while running videos last week, it was so amazing to see everyone with their hands raised worshiping God. 

It is Monday and I cannot wait for it to be Sunday again!

Pizza, salads and a Love story

Pizzicato is, hands down, the best pizza place in San Diego. Caleb worked for them for a while and the owners love him and we love them so we had to take our family to try it.

Betsy, Jana's friend joined us and it was so very nice to meet her, she just recently got engaged and has a beautiful love story. Everybody loved the food, we loved meeting Betsy and hopefully we'll get to see her soon again and meet her wonderful Fiancée.

Crest and the mustang

We had to take the fam to Crest Cafe it being our favorite place an all. Norb and Deb rented a convertible mustang and we all rode together to crest, it was fun to have our hair dancing in the wind and then to visit our absolute favorite restaurant with more member of the family. They loved it, as most people do, and after we all went to our respective beds for a nap. 

FYI We took this pictures with Norb's iPhone 4, aren't they wonderful? I love that phone.

Urban Basketball

Husband is pretty athletic, he has practiced sports his whole life and enjoys the challenge that comes with a good game of basketball or football or whatever. With some of his church buddies K plays basketball every Monday, and I rarely go to cheer on him because I am a punk, but this past Monday I went since Norb and Deb were here and wanted to see him play.

I was never athletic, I like watching sports but sports are not something I miss doing, or crave doing, or have any particular feeling toward. I like dancing!

Anyway the Urban Church team won this past Monday and we all got to celebrate with them; it was fun I must admit but I really doubt I'll be there next Monday =/

Family, breakfast and the gaslamp

We took our family to The Mission in East Village because it's amazing food and we figured we could walk from there to the ball park and the Gaslamp. We all  really enjoyed the food and the walk afterward. San Diego is such a pretty city it's hard no to enjoy walking around it's streets.
