Sophie wants to see me!!

Our nieces Maddie and Sophia are coming to California for thanksgiving and I cannot wait to see them. We haven't seen them in so long, I feel like they won't know who I am when we see each other, more so with Sophie because last time I saw her she wasn't even a year old. But Angie, my sister decided to ask Sophie if she wanted to see us and even though My husband (dogdog) was a bit sad after the video, I LOVED IT!!

I want to see you too Soph, thanks for the video Ang, we love you guys!

Ms. Kamilah is a riot

So husband and I hung out with Ms. Kamilah today, she brought some paint and paint sheets and we painted our afternoon away. She said so many incredibly funny things, she is really one of the smartest, cutest little girls I've met. She used properly the words flabbergasted, flustered and inspiration among other incredibly big words and she's only 5!!!

After painting we had dinner, went for frozen yogurt and came back home to watch Monsters Inc. 10 minutes into the movie Kamilah and I fell asleep though and My K just took pictures and watched the movie alone.

We can't wait to hang out with her again!!

Dinner with friends on a rainy day

 It was raining in San diego this morning!!! Crazy and exciting because I got to wear my rain boots and take my fun umbrella out. I love sporadic rainy days (key word: sporadic)

 My lovey got me flowers today, such a wonderful husband God gave me. 

We had some friends over tonight for dinner and chit chat. We love having people at our home and we don't get to do it as often as we'd like to because K's work is so time demanding. But we decided we had to make an effort and cook for friends so we invited the Millers and the Basses over and we had a great time.

Gibson was here with us and he's grown so much, it's incredible what a difference a few weeks can make in a baby's life. He's such a cutie. For dinner I made chicken stroganoff, white rice and sauteed green beans, everybody liked it so I feel pretty accomplished right now. We are going to try to host dinner for friends once a month once 2011 rolls around, we'll see how that goes. 

We are so happy our friends got to come and we got to spend time with them, hope we can get together again soon!! 

Faith's Birthday

Faith turns 6 tomorrow, so her parents, our pastors, threw a little birthday party for her and I went to celebrate Mrs. Brinkman.

There were Mickey and Minnie Mouse cakes, tons of fun gifts and we played Wii, you can see Bishop totally distracted by the original Mario. 

We are so happy we get to see our friends kids grow up and we get to be a part of their lives, it's exciting to see children mature, change, grow and turn into amazing little people with the world in their hands.

Got my hair done

I get my hair done at Robert Cromeans and I think it is the best and nicest salon in San Diego hands down. I wonder how the Vegas one is, I am sure is fantastic too. Anyways I went and got my hair done yesterday and had the best time, it's just such a relaxing time. The ceiling is glass so you have sun coming in the whole time and all the windows are floor to ceiling and the view is of the Convention Center so it's actually pretty nice. The service is outstanding and Rachel the girl that does my hair has to be the sweetest most amazing hair dresser in the history of hair dressing.

My hair is a bit lighter than usual so I feel weird, but I will post a picture soon!

New school books

I am so excited about the new books I got for school. They are all about preaching and sharing the gospel, can't wait to start reading them and learning more about sharing my faith. I really do love school, I just recently started studying again, pursuing my masters degree and I am already planning what I'll be doing next. 

Every day after school I get home and I am just beyond excited because God's plan for our life is so clear while I am listening to all the teachers and as we come together for prayer. Going back to school has been one of the best decisions we've made, I can't wait to be back in class!!!

Apple pockets

A few months ago my friend Mel Miller showed me how to make apple pockets. Husband fell in love with them and I definitely did to. So we decided to make them for game night. They were a total success and everyone loved them even though I think I bought the wrong kind of dough ha. I love learning recipes I can revisit and remember. Thanks Mel

Basketball

For the second time this season I went to a basketball game to cheer on Urban's team and husband. This time they lost by one point, yeah one!! it was so upsetting. They played a great game though and my K was shooting like a champ. After the game we came home to a very full mailbox and Prince of Persia.

Risk

I love playing risk and there is no better time to play board games than a Sunday afternoon in pajamas and with your neighbors. I must let everyone know my husband won the first round and I dominated the second, quite a successful day for us world conquerors.

Chuck the pig

Chuck the pig is getting filled with quarters so we can take a trip to Turkey next year. Chuck is awesome, he lets you write with chalk on his belly and he is a really sweet mint pig that is keeping our quarters. We are looking for a girlfriend for chuck that will have our cents and other coins, so if you meet anybody worthy of chucky chuck here, let us know!
