Week 24
Weight +12.5 Pounds
Waist +7 Inches
Cravings: Nothing in particular
Dislikes: Nothing
This week miss Antonella, her Dad and Mom flew down to Colombia to see my family. Not only did we want them to see me with a baby belly but we also wanted to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday with her.

It's been such a nice fun trip. We've only been here for 2 days but it is always so much fun to see my family. I haven't seen my dad yet because he's in Guatemala but he arrives this weekend and I can't wait.

Last week before we left for Colombia we got some blood drawn for some normal 2nd trimester tests. We won't hear back from the doctor until we get back. We got the glucose test done and my goodness that is one long test. We got there at 730am and I drank the orange drink pretty quickly, the nurse was impressed. I had heard so many horrendous things about this drink that I was expecting to want to throw up and have a horrible time drinking it, it was indeed not a flavorful drink, but I am glad I was expecting worse. We didn't leave the hospital until 1045am.

Antonella did great on the flight down here. My back started hurting a bit but I was able to lay down once we arrived in Panama where we had a layover and that helped a lot. Panama was quite hot though, as you can see here, and I was a bit dramatic, but if you can't be dramatic when you are pregnant then when? right? ha.

We will got back to regular pictures next week, but for this week regular outfit pictures will have to do.

Week 24
Peso +12.5 Libras
Cintura +7 Pulgadas

So, on our way to Colombia to visit family and surprise my mom for her birthday, we had a layover in Panama. Turns out half the airport has horrible air conditioning, it was soooooo hot I was really really uncomfortable. The problem was that all the restaurants were on that side of the airport, so I headed that way and then ran back to the newer side that is not finished yet but has better air. My husband decided to document my dramatic reaction.

As you all know Caleb and I each lead a Community Group (CG), his is for men only, mine is for ladies only. We meet the same night and at the same time but at a different place. We love our CGs and we go on 12 week sessions and then take a two week break and re-launch. So we had our 12 weeks and the ladies and I got together to have dinner and celebrate what we learned the 12 weeks before. It was a great time! We talked about what we had learned, ate together, and thanked Kristi for joining us and helping us with the teaching part of the CG. She is moving to San Francisco for a season so she won't be able to join us and share her wonderful wisdom with us, but she'll be back and we'll insist she join us again until she's so annoyed she does it.

I am grateful Caleb and I get the opportunity to meet with people every week and learn with them and from them. It is fun to prepare for CG and see everyone being challenged in their faith and growing. Next session we start in May, and we cannot wait!

It is hard to get dressed when you have a baby bump you've never had before. I've been trying really hard to dress the bump up but it's tricky. I am grateful it is getting warmer and warmer in San Diego because I can wear dresses and shorts, but also I am so warm all the time that cold weather doesn not sound bad at all.

I am wearing shorts I had before I got pregnant and wore regularly before (belly band in place of course), and a t-shirt pool momma got me about 2 years ago (isn't it adorable?). We'll see how long I can go without buying clothes.

Week 23
Weight +11 Pounds
Waist +6.5 Inches
Cravings: Colombian food all the time
Dislikes: Nothing
So this past week was pretty mellow. Thank you everyone for praying for the PUPPPs, it really has helped, I've felt so much better. Baby girl has been kicking still, and kicking hard but also spending time just moving slowly.

I have been feeling a little bit better about my appearance now that I am evidently pregnant and don't look like I just stop caring and have gained weight. I have still been able to wear my own clothes which is the best! Most of my J-Crew shirts fit me perfectly, J-Crew has always been big on me (the problem of being 5'2'' and mini sized), so during pregnancy it has been perfect, they are long enough to cover my belly and lose enough that I am comfortable. The only pregnancy thing I have bought is bras and belly bands, I am hoping I can keep it that way all the way through, we'll see.

I have been wearing a bit more makeup, and I have been doing my hair a lot more, I just want to look pretty, I think baby A feels good if I feel good. Maybe I am being too vain, but it makes me feel better when I make an effort to look pretty so I will continue to do it.
She still wakes me up in the middle of the night, actually exactly at 4am every morning. I feel her kicking and I open my eyes, look at my phone on the nightstand and sure enough, 4:01am, 4:03am, 3:57am, 4:06am. She just wakes up and gets restless or something at that time. I smile now, I know sleep won't be exactly what I will be getting once she is here so this training is good.

Caleb has been organizing the spare room and we've been doing some spring cleaning to get ready for Baby A. We still aren't sure about the colors for the nursery or what we want it to look like, but I guess we still have a little bit of time.

Semana 23
Peso +11 Libras
Cintura +6.5 Pulgadas
Antojos: Comida Colombiana
No me gusta: Nada

We found a small store in San Diego that has some Colombian food. It was sooooo exciting to see some familiar groceries. Isn't my husband so very handsome?

My belly is growing fast but I have been able to still wear my clothes so that's good, I did get a couple of belly bands and I wore one once but didn't feel so comfortable so I am waiting to grow a bit more to give them another try.

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App We had not had a chance to get together with Brandon & Julia in so long we just texted them and asked what they were doing for dinner and, just like that we ended up at Davanti Enoteca in San Diego. The food was amazing, and we had a great time. If you are in San Diego definitely visit Davanti, get a burger and the focaccia (which is absolutely outstanding), and enjoy a good time.

Week 22

Weight +10 Pounds
Waist +6 Inches
Cravings: Colombian hot dogs (and even if I went to Colombia I can't have them)
Dislikes: Nothing

This past week was good, Antonella has been kicking like crazy and we have been talking to her and reading to her as usual. I threw up a couple times which was unusual but I wasn't feeling sick or anything.

The only new development of the week was a new rash and itching I have started to develop. At first I thought the itching was the regular itchiness pregnant women experience, but it was on my arms and chest and legs so I discarded that pretty quickly. Then I started getting a rash, it is a mild rash, nothing crazy but still a rash. The itching was almost unbearable at points so my lovely husband would take small wet face towels and put them in the freezer and then on my body, that relieved the itchiness a lot.

The doctor said it sounds like a mild case of PUPPPs (Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy). I really don't want to imagine what a severe case feels like, I am praying for women who have it =/. She ordered a few tests and we'll go next week to confirm the diagnosis.

PUPPPs is a chronic rash some women experience during pregnancy. Fortunately it does not come with any risks to me or to the baby, it is just simply annoying. Only 1 in every 200 pregnant women get to experience the lovely itchiness so I feel like I won a raffle ha. It can get quite aggressive and I am believing it doesn't in my case, it will simply go away!

The doctor suggested Aveeno oatmeal baths and if it gets worse they'll give me cortisone or something like that, but I would rather not have to do that. We'll try the baths and see how that goes. In the meantime and when you remember please pray it goes away, it is annoying and incredibly uncomfortable. Thanks!

Semana 22
Peso +10 Libras
Cintura +6 Pulgadas
No me gusta: Nada

At our Easter service we had an artist, Clarion, transform a painting of a seemingly dead scene to a vibrant scene of a river during the coldplay song "Paradise". He was outstanding and the message about Luke 23:42-43 tied in perfectly with the painting. If you weren't there and would like to listen to the message, here is the link to the podcast.

For the last 4 years we have put together a community wide Bunny Bash and free Easter Egg Hunt for the San Diego Community. This year was the first time we had it on a Saturday and it was incredibly fun. We love seeing all the little kids running for eggs and oh so excited about the prizes.

Can't wait for next year, OH MY GOODNESS Antonella will be around next year CRAZY!
