These are K's feet

This is Kris.

I blurred the image because I haven't asked K or Kris about putting their weight out in the web for all to see. I'll ask them and I might update the pictures. Bottom line is we decided to start recording our weight last night and we will be recording weekly. K and Kris want to lose weight, I want to keep mine.

I gained weight after I got married and then I lost way too much, now I gained some again and I like the way it is right now. We are keeping each other accountable and as soon as Kris and K are all for it pics will be up and you guys can keep us accountable too! I think I will start recording measurements too, we'll see if the guys like that idea!

My picture is not up because K took it and it is completely out of focus, we will take new ones and I'll upload them all!

Our Friend Alayna had her birthday today so we went to dinner with her. We dined at Urban bar & grill and the food was great, the service was wonderful and we had a great time celebrating Alayna.

Just because every night has to end like that we stopped at yogurtland on our way home and my K got himself a treat.

Happy Birthday Alayna, we love you!

Last night we went to Extraordinary Desserts with other 3 couples. It was so nice to talk to have amazing food with great friends.

Brandon and Mel had an amazing meringue tart kind of thing with fresh fruit, it was so good.

Jon and Christina had lemon bread pudding that was outstanding (my second favorite)

Sam and Jen are goofballs, ordered a chocolate cheesecake but made sure there was chocolate in their teeth before we took a picture.

K and I had a lemon napoleon and it was our favorite. It was tart and sweet and amazing. If you are ever in San Diego you should go to Extraordinary desserts and have one.

I arranged the clothes for the kids at church today. We are still missing a few things but all in all we were able to get them most everything. I love God's church, it's just so wonderful to see people come together to bless others. I will divide the clothes and put them in fun gift bags and we will give them to the rightful owners this weekend.

I love that I can't shop for myself yet I have been able to go shopping!

So K and I were asked if we wanted to bless some of the kids that go to our church by buying them some school clothes, and since we love kids and we have built a relationship with the church kids we decided to do it. There is nothing more gratifying than blessing someone else, especially a kid. Since we are in a bit of a tight financial spot right now we asked pool momma to help us out with a little bit and she gladly agreed. She's so wonderful.

Here we are shopping for them and having fun. We'll show some clothes soon, and we'll show the kiddos too! They are just amazing little people.

Thanks pool momma and thanks little people for teaching us lessons all the time!

My hubby and started a 30-day challenge today. Nope it has nothing to do with our plan to lose weight, instead it has to do with our marriage.

A couple of Mondays ago K and I were in LA and we got in an argument where he said I don't really listen to him and sometimes I don't even remember the things I've said. We talked it over, got frustrated, threw fits, stomped our feet (ok I am the only one that does that), apologized to each other, kissed and made up.

A few hours went by and we were in the car listening to music and singing. A song I have never heard came on and I started making up the lyrics, I wasn't really paying attention to what I was saying and suddenly K said "I love you." I looked at him and asked him where that came from.

-Honey, you just told me to tell you I love you.
-I did? in my song

-Yeah, see you don't remember the things you tell me
-It's different love, I wasn't paying attention I was just making up lyrics
-Just thought it was interesting you didn't remember
-Ok whatever, you are mean sometimes

And just like that I was frustrated all over again! It was a rough day for the Luehmann's alright, we just weren't getting along.

We argue every now and then, sometimes we focus on what the other is not doing, hasn't done, or is annoying and we forget that there are so many other things the other is doing, has done and is amazing.

And then Tuesday night we watched Why did I get married? a movie by Tyler Perry and they mentioned the 80/20 rule. In most cases, in marriage you get 80% of what you want, but since you are not getting the other 20% you focus on that instead of encouraging more of the 80%.

That happens in my marriage, that Monday we argued and got frustrated, we both were so focused on that 20% we completely forgot about the other 80%. So I remember I had read this 30-day challenge on The Marry Blogger, told K about it and we decided to try it out.

For the next 30 days we will make an effort to comment only on the 80%, comment only on the positive things each other does and has. We will build each other up and we will encourage one another. We want that to become our habit, we want to be able to focus more on the positive than the negative. Neither one of us is perfect but we are perfect together.

K stepped it up when he got me a pedicure gift card as his first way to encourage me, I thanked him the way a wife should and so far our challenge is going great, we'll keep you posted!

(The late summer heat in San Diego is making my feet so swollen and weird looking haha gotta love it)

K and I have been trying to lose weight together. Since we got married we've both gained weight, and even though my Mom is loving that my pants don't fall off anymore I don't like it (specially considering we aren't buying clothes for us). So I've been cooking healthy food and we've been working out together. Today I made garlic lemon mahi mahi over a bed of farfalle with a garlic, tomato sauce. I was impressed, it turned out pretty good!

I think this idea of us doing it together will work out and we will welcome 2011 with our desired weight.

Our friend Dan left yesterday to go to Oklahoma so we said goodbye to him at church. He's such a cool guy, we'll ready miss him. We are praying he misses the ocean and beautiful weather so much that he comes back soon.

Bye Dan, San Diego misses you!

Our pastor turned 35 yesterday. so our pastor, her husband, had a surprise for her at church with a cute little video and cake for everybody.

She was truly surprised and we were so excited she had no idea.

Their daughters made cards and a hat and helped her with the gifts. And later that night he had a second surprise, he had people at their home decorating the place so when she came home after lunch she found us all yelling Happy Birthday!

Little Baby Bishop in her lap turned 2 yesterday too. He gets cuter and cuter everyday.

He also likes to poke his older friends, haha.

Aren't this kids adorable ? We are blessed to see them grow and hear all the fun things they say.

Happy Birthday Katie and Bish, we love you both.

My cousin Kris has been staying with us for the last 2 and 1/2 months. It's been so much fun having around, learning more about him and having the opportunity to share about Jesus with him. We feel honored God has allowed for us to spend this time with our cousin. He feels bad he's been here for so long (so silly!) so he decided to buy us a small present to show his appreciation.

I got the cutest shirt ever, making the right bow took me about 15 minutes in the morning but it was well worth it. My K got a cool leather bracelet and some yogurtland.

Thanks cousin, you are the best!!

I was browsing through fashion websites because I like fashion (duh) and ran across this picture at The Sartorialist of a 16 yr old girl.

I don't know if you feel the same way I do but I wish all 16 year old girls would take advice from her. She's my favorite 16 yr old, she looks sophisticated, cool and beautiful.

I have been working at Urban for a few months now but the last 2 have been by far the funnest, that's what happens when you add an 8yr old and a 5yr old to your day.

My church is pretty new so the offices are in my pastor's apartment and for the last couple months their daughter's have been on vacation which means I get to hang out with them and hear them playing. Today out of nowhere Cara (8) told Faith (5) to be careful with all the humans, Faith listened!

They ask me every now and then when I will have babies and I usually respond that I don't know yet, but this week when they asked me I told them I want to have a baby by next year. Their excitement was fun and just like that we were thinking about baby names. Above is Cara's list, Faith gave me two great names Buttercup and Sweetie Pie, I told them we'll use their list as a good start.

Kids are so much fun, I can't wait for my babies to be here!

Since I got married I have been wanting a one piece bathing suit but amazingly finding a cute one has been quite the challenge. I've tried so many of them without even being close to liking one I had lost all hope.

Thank God I have husband with me, earlier this week when we were in Malibu we walked by a Juicy Couture and he made me go in and for bathing suits. Well it turns out they only had one. No, not one style, one bathing suit all together! I thought it was a waste of time to even look at it but husband insisted and they came with the cutest pink bathing suit, and it was my size!!!!

I finally have a cute one piece bathing suit and instead of paying full price for it ($190) we ended up paying only $60 because it's the end of the summer and my husband's charm works everywhere. I took a picture to get my sister's opinion and since she approved I thought I could share it with you.

I just came home from screen on the green. It was such a good time even though I couldn't really understand everything they were saying in the movie. We watched the original 1952 Moulin Rouge with Zsa Zsa Gabor. We brought food and drinks and laid on the green.

I wish I would have known earlier because this was the last showing for the summer, but next year I plan on being at everyone of them!

We went to LA to run errands at the Colombian Consulate last Monday and I was ready to be at the consulate for at least 2 hours. I mean if you think the DMV is awful you have no idea until you've been to the Colombian consulate in LA or Miami.

We get there pretty early in the morning and I see one of the assistants to the Consul and I think "wait a minute I know this guy". So I tell Kris and K that I know him and they make fun of me because they say I think I know everyone and their mom, I laugh at myself and let it go. When it was my turn to go up and explain what I was doing there the guy saw me.

- Jo?
- Diego?
- Yes, how are you?
- Good! you went to school with my sister right?
- Yeah, she's mad at me haha
- She's funny like that
- What are you doing here?
- I need some paperwork signed and to process all of this stuff
- Did you bring your money orders?
- Yeah I did
- I'll take care of you. After all what are friends for right?
- Thank you so much!

And just like that we had a whole day in LA to play!

Welcome to the Vegas home. It's a 3 bedroom 2 and 1/2 bathroom home with an extra room that is an office. Caleb and I were blessed with it and it has been wonderful having it because it has given us the ability to give our time to the church here in San Diego.

This is the pool. It's a salt water pool so the water is really nice and it had solar panels that heat the water for the cooler months. I'd love to have a pool here in San Diego and we never go all the way up to the 100's here so it's nice to have a pool in Vegas.

This is the family room. The open door there goes to a sun room that goes directly into the pool.

The kitchen is fun. There is a nice dishwasher on the other side of the kitchen, I wish I had one of those here in San Diego too!!

This is the dining room. The house is about 25 years old but K changed the floor and put bamboo and restored a lot of it so it's in great condition. I mean look at that shining floor!

This is the living room. We think the fire place doesn't work but we are unsure. Maybe the new renters will figure it out.

Washer and dryer

Those are the stairs to the second floor where 3 of the rooms are. The office is on the first floor. We didn't take pictures of the rooms because we hadn't finished cleaning them but they are a good size, specially the master which is actually pretty big.

Ok so when we were in Vegas around August the 11th we met with a couple I've known for a few years. They are both wonderful pastors and he's a phenomenal worship leader. They have three cute kiddos and it was sooooo nice to see them and catch up. They hadn't had a chance to meet my K so it was nice they got a chance to.

At the end of the night we found yogurtland and that just may have made my husband's night perfect!

I will keep catching up on our postings now =/ it's been crazy with school and dealing with homes everywhere but we are trying to get back!
